Holy Spirit Catholic Primary School, Carnes Hill raised more than $800 for the Vinnies Winter Appeal at their recent Pyjama Day.

Students and staff came to school dressed in their pyjamas to raise funds and awareness of those less fortunate in the community.

The school Mini Vinnies and Pope Francis Award students also participated in a Mini Winter Sleepout.

“They experienced, just for a very short time, some of the feelings that those who are homeless in society experience very often – being hungry, cold and desperate,” Principal Brother Nicholas Harsas said.

“Social Justice is a priority for the school community and the school is very pleased to be able to support the St Vincent de Paul Society’s Winter Appeal. The day was a great success.”
